Police seek public's help in tracking down Waikiki bank robber

Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a suspect wanted for a Waikiki bank robbery on Monday morning.

The incident happened about 9 a.m. at the Bank of Hawaii Waikiki branch at 2155 Kalakaua Ave.

Police said the man approached a teller and handed her a demand note.

He fled on foot eastbound on Kalakaua Avenue.

The man is estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old, 6-foot-5, and 220 pounds. He was wearing all black -- a long sleeve shirt with shorts and a baseball cap. He was also wearing dark sunglasses.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asking to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.
