Just a few showers and then mostly sunny skies for your Wednesday.

Trade winds will be in the "normal" range of 10-20 mph, perhaps at the upper end of the range this afternoon. Stronger trades tomorrow through the weekend. An old cold front will sag down over the islands tonight and early tomorrow, dampening the trades a bit.

Surf is bigger than anticipated along Oahu's north shores and the north and west shores of Kauai. Here's the NWS surf forecast for Oahu today: North 10-15 feet, West 7-10 feet, East 3-5 feet, South 2-4 feet.

High Surf Advisory until 12:00 p.m. today for north shores on Oahu and the north and west shores of Kauai.

Small Craft Advisory for Maalaea Bay, the Pailolo and Alenuihaha channels, along with the coastal waters south and west of the Big Island.
