Forecast: Breezy tradewinds expected through the week

Breezy tradewinds are expected to run through Wednesday, picking up speed going into the weekend. Rainfall is sparse, increasing Friday through the weekend, favoring windward neighborhoods.

Surf is building out in the country with a new long-period WNW swell. With the lighter winds, east shores are trending smaller. South shores may have Box Jelly Fish today. Check with lifeguards before you or the kids jump in the ocean.

HIGH SURF ADVISORY is on for north and west shores of Kauai, and north shores of Oahu. Small Craft Advisory for Maalaea Bay, the Pailolo and Alenuihaha channels, along with coastal waters south and west of the Big Island.
