A large northwest swell will roll in starting Wednesday evening, bumping up surf on Oahu's North Shore to warning levels.
A High Surf Warning has been issued for the north-facing shores of Oahu and Maui. Other areas of the state are expected to see advisory-level surf.
The National Weather Service said surf with wave heights of 20 to 25 feet is expected to roll in starting Wednesday evening and subside Thursday.
Forecasters warn the high surf will produce dangerous conditions for beachgoers and those who live along affected coastlines.
