Forecast: Box jellyfish likely along south shores

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Brisk tradewinds will hold firm throughout the week with scattered windward showers. Leeward sides are expecting occasional passing showers. Winds are forecast to pick up a notch on towards the weekend.

Box Jelly Fish are likely along south shores today through Wednesday. Check with lifeguards before you or the kids jump in the ocean.

Surf is dropping along east shores so the NWS has dropped the High Surf Advisory. A new NW swell is due tonight but wave heights will be short of advisory sized. Here's tomorrow's NWS surf forecast: East shores 3-5 feet, North shores 7-10 feet and South shores 2-4 feet, West shores 5-8 feet.

Small Craft Advisory for Maalaea Bay, the Pailolo and Alenuihaha channels, along with coastal waters south and west of the Big Island.
