HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - State crews will shut down the H-1 Freeway eastbound in Kalihi starting at 9 p.m. Monday to install vehicle counting detectors.
The nighttime closures will run through Thursday at the latest.
All lanes should be re-opened by 4 a.m. daily, the state Transportation Department said.
The closure will run from Middle Street to Liliha Street, and will include the Middle Street Tunnel and the Kalihi Street on-ramp.
During the closure, drivers will have to use Nimitz Highway or Dillingham Boulevard.
