The Junior League of Honolulu is calling for members of the community to help support the local nonprofit, Youth Outreach (YO!), for its one-day donation drive on Sunday, October 30, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The drop off location will be at The Wedding Ring Shop (at the corner of Kapiolani and Pensacola). The community is encouraged to donate clothes, unopened hygiene products and basic school supplies for YO!. Curbside drop-off will also be available for donation items.

The donation wish list is:

  • Female underwear (S-XL) – NEW
  • Male boxers (S-XL) – NEW
  • Socks (all sizes) – NEW
  • Large size shampoo & conditioner
  • Large outdoor trash bags (55 gal)
  • Backpacks (new or gently used)
  • Boys/young men clothing (new/gently used)
  • Board shorts, t-shirts, white v-neck t-shirts
  • Girls/young women clothing (new/gently used)
  • Sundresses
  • Towels
  • Slippers (all sizes)
  • Hair gel, mousse, hair spray
  • Phone chargers, Ear buds
  • Gift cards (Costco, Walmart, Ross, Lowe's)
  • Food, Milk, Eggs, Healthy snacks, Protein bars
  • Reusable water bottles
  • Skateboards
  • Bicycles

The Junior League of Honolulu is partnering with Youth Outreach for its New Member Project in its 93rd year of service. Youth Outreach is a joint venture between the League's legacy partners, Waikiki Health Center and Hale Kipa, whose mission is to serve as a safe haven for homeless youths, offering medical care, social services, and non-judgmental support. "The League looks forward to continuing to support its community partners as we fulfill the mission to develop and support the potential of women through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers," stated Lori Nishimura, VP for Membership.
