Forecast: Breezy trades, passing showers to start the week

Trade winds have dropped below advisory levels but will remain locally breezy to start the week, bringing passing showers mainly for windward and mauka areas. We could get a small boost in trade showers early Monday morning as a weak frontal remnant passes through. Another remnant could arrive Tuesday night, but again just a slight increase in showers is expected.

Trade winds should ease slightly into the 10 to 20 mile per hour range by Tuesday, but could pick up again toward the end of the week.

High Surf Advisory has been extended until 6 a.m. Monday for east shores. Box jellyfish are possible on south shores of Oahu so check with lifeguards before going in. For mariners, a Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for most Hawaiian coastal waters.
