HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A High Surf Advisory has been issued until 6 p.m. Sunday for a rising trade wind swell.

The advisory is posted for east-facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui and the Big Island.

The National Weather Service said the strong trade winds will bring rough and dangerous surf in the 5 to 8 foot range.

Beachgoers, swimmers and surfers should exercise caution and heed all advice from ocean safety officials. Expect strong breaking waves and shore breaks, along with strong rip currents that can make swimming difficult and dangerous,
