HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Thanks to the HHSAA's new Open Division, the loser of the ILH Championship game will still get a shot at state tournament redemption.
Because of their defense, the Saint Louis Crusaders wouldn't have had to worry about it.
Punahou quarterback Nick Kapule was intercepted five times, two more than he had had thrown all season, and Saint Louis rode a career night by Ronson Young to top the Buffanblu, 28-14, to win the ILH Division One Championship.
Young, a senior do-everything slot back, rushed 12 times for 84 yards and two touchdowns and caught two more from Tua Tagovailoa, including a 31-yard score in the fourth quarter to provide the decisive margin.
Tagovailoa completed 10 of his 19 passes, for 192 yards, but was also the Crusaders' leading rusher, with 16 carries for 102 yards.
