HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu-based Outrigger is building its first loyalty program. It's the newest brand to join the Global Hotel Alliance. The new angle is a sweepstakes called "Travel the World." The thing to know before researching this online is that Outrigger has properties in Fiji, Guam, Mauritius and the Maldives.

The Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel on Kuhio Avenue names a new group sales manager and a new senior wedding and social events manager. Melissa Millen comes from Castle Resorts. Priya Ho comes from the Pomaikai Ballrooms at Dole Cannery.

More Conde Nast Traveler honors for Hawaii resorts – the magazine readers gave high marks to half a dozen five-star resort properties here, and highest of all to Maui's Travaasa Hana resort.

What happens to the former Sports Authority stores? PBN reports MacNaughto-Kobayashi have bought the one at Kona Commons – and Howard Hughes Corporation has bought the one in Kakaako. The largest competing chain, Dick's Sporting Goods, has yet to make a move in Hawaii.
