HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A former Honolulu Police Department sergeant accused in a bar shooting is scheduled to be sentenced on Wednesday.

Anson Kimura pleaded guilty to assault as part of a plea deal for his alleged role in the shooting in April 2015. He's accused of critically injuring a 40-year-old woman at King's Sports Bar while off duty. HPD said his 38-caliber revolver accidentally went off in the bar early that morning.

If convicted, he faces five years in prison.
