A new image from the Hawaii Volcano Observatory shows the lava lake at Halemaumau crater overflowing on Saturday.
It happened twice in the same day, once in the afternoon and again early evening.
It's the first time magama reached that rim since May of last year.
The lava lake level dropped back down after that, but rose again 20 feet on Monday, bringing it within 34 feet of the rim.
