PALOLO, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 29-year-old man is undergoing surgery at the Queen's Medical Center after eyewitnesses say he was stabbed while confronting two robbers in Palolo Valley Monday morning.
The incident happened just after 12:30 a.m. near Kauhana Street and Palolo Avenue.
Emergency Medical Services said the victim was sliced across the chest and stabbed under the arm. He reportedly told EMS he confronted two robbers before being stabbed.
He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The Honolulu Police Department has opened an attempted murder and first-degree robbery case. No suspect description is available at this time, but anyone who has further information is asked to call police.
