Maui state House candidate pleads not guilty to sex assault

MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A State House candidate from West Maui is denying charges that he molested a young girl over a three year period.

Chayne Marten pleaded not guilty to 8 counts of sex assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a minor.

The republican is running for the seat held by Democrat Angus McKelvey.

Marten's bail is set at $650 thousand dollars.
