An elderly man who was rescued from a Waipahu home fire on Friday died a few days later.
The man was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, though he was conscious and responsive at the scene. He died on Sunday.
The two-alarm blaze started about 5 a.m.
Madeline Guieb says she immediately called 911 when she saw the fire, while her husband attempted to put out the flames with their garden hose, and her son tried to get inside the home to check for occupants.
Arson investigators were on the scene. At this time, it's unclear where or how the fire started.
HFD says they believe damage was limited to the living room.
