A series of northwest swells is rolling in, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a High Surf Advisory.
The advisory, which is in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday, was issued for north- and west-facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai, and for north-facing shores of Maui.
NWS said surf will be between 9 to 18 feet.
Expect strong breaking waves, shore break and strong currents that will make swimming dangerous.
