Dry and stable weather conditions will be over the state Sunday with just a few light windward and mauka showers at night and in the morning. Trade winds will be light to moderate at around 10 to 15 miles per hour. A weakening frontal boundary will approach the islands Sunday night, bringing a few more showers starting with Kauai and then moving southward through the island chain into Monday and early Tuesday. Drier weather should return and trade winds will increase a bit for the rest of the week.
A High Surf Advisory remains posted for north and west shores of Kauai, Niihau, Oahu and Molokai and the north shores of Maui, but surf is on the way down. Another northwest swell is anticipated Tuesday. A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday for windward coastal waters of the smaller islands.
