Just a few morning showers then sunny skies across much of the state. The Big Island may get wet again this afternoon due to an unstable atmosphere over the east end of the state. Trade winds will begin the day light to moderate, then strengthen to 15-20 mph by afternoon.
High today in Honolulu will be about 87 degrees.
Surf is elevated along south shores today and coming up tonight out in the country. North and west shores will likely be under a High Surf Advisory by this afternoon in anticipation of the event. Waves are forecast to be 12-18 feet along north shores and 8-12 feet on west shores.
