Improving weather conditions just in time for the holiday weekend.
A more stable atmosphere and the returning trade winds will combine to provide a much nicer day today. A breezy, sunny, Thursday with a high of 88 degrees in Honolulu. Lighter trades but still nice and sunny through the weekend.
Surf is coming up out in the country this weekend. Forerunners will start arriving late Friday. By Saturday an advisory is likely, which would mean north shore waves of 15 feet or larger. A reinforcing swell is forecast for Sunday night, so elevated surf is expected into the first of next week.
Here today's surf forecast: 3-5 feet east, 2-4 feet south, 1-3 feet north, 1-2 feet west.
