HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The Hawaii Jaycees (JCI USA) will be hosting their 9th annual Adopt a School Day on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 9:00am-3:00pm at Washington Middle School.

Following the JCI Active Citizen’s Framework, Adopt a School Day engages local community partners, and stakeholders from all sectors of society to support our local educators and their schools in creating a better learning environment for our children in Hawaii.

This year, we’ve asked our 2016 Adopt a School Day committee to plan and execute a spotlight project for the program. On October 9, 2016, Jaycees, community partners, and local businesses will be joined by our JCI USA National President, Laurence Bolotin, at Washington Middle School to address some of the issues raised by their educators and administrators.

“Adopt a School Day is an excellent opportunity to showcase who we are as an international civic organization, what we do, and why we do it” - Tammy Yoshioka, 2016 AASD Committee Co-Chair.
