MILILANI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -- A Mililani business owner has pleaded guilty to filing a false tax return.
Amalia Ralar, 43, pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to falsely reporting earnings in 2012 from a health nutrition store, Muscle Inc.
Court documents show Ralar said she made $50,672 in 2012, when her actual income was $380,364.
Ralar also agreed in court documents that her tax filings from 2007 to 2013 were not accurate. Her total back taxes are estimated at $354,511.
Federal prosecutors said in a news released that while Ralar's guilty plea is for the 2012 tax year, her sentencing will be based on her total unpaid taxes.
Ralar is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 12. She could face a maximum three year prison sentence and a fine of up to $250,000.
