A breezy, trade wind weather Friday is underway.

Passing showers will dampen primarily windward and mauka neighborhoods, but leeward areas will also occasionally get wet. The trades are 10-20 mph this morning and are expected to reach 15-25 mph by afternoon. The high in Honolulu will be 88 degrees.

At 5 a.m., Post Tropical Cyclone Ulika is 825 miles east of Hilo and moving west at 12 mph. The moisture from Ulika will get caught up in our trade wind flow and increase our shower activity Sunday through the middle of next week.

Surf is small with no significant swells in our immediate future. The small background south swells will continue... and we may see a small NW on Tuesday. Here's today's surf forecast from the National Weather Service: 2-4 feet east, 2-3 feet south, 1-3 feet north and west.

Small Craft Advisory for Maalaea Bay, Pailolo and Alenuihaha channels, and coastal waters south and west of the Big Island.
