HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Manpower Incorporated interviewed employers nationwide about their fourth quarter plans. In 11,000 interviews in 100 cities, they asked, do you plan to increase hiring? First in the nation, with one in three employers saying "yes," Honolulu.
Percentage of employers planning to add employees:
1.    Honolulu 33%.
2.   Provo, Utah 31%.
3.   Miami 29%.
4.   Raleigh, N.C., 29%.
5.    Charleston, S.C., 27%.
6.   Nashville 27%.
7.   Cape Coral, Florida, 25%.
8.   Richmond, Virginia, 25%.
9.   Riverside, California, 25%.
10. Orlando 23%.
Bottom of the list, at just 3%, where Seattle and Oklahoma City. At 6%, Worcester, Massachusetts, along with Buffalo and Kansas City. The national findings showed hiring in hospitality, retail and service sectors, all important in Hawaii, with weakness in sectors we've never relied on, like manufacturing. This is no coincidence: the most optimistic sector, at 33%, is leisure and hospitality.
