HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - One of two suspects arrested following a fatal shooting in Chinatown over the weekend made his first appearance in court Tuesday.
Alabanza Tuilamealiifano, 30, is charged with manslaughter, robbery, and second-degree attempted murder. He also faces five firearms offenses.
Tuilamealiifano was arrested Saturday night in connection with the shooting, which happened near Cuties Café on North King Street just before 2 a.m. Saturday.
One woman was killed in the shooting and a man was critically injured.
Police say two men attempted to rob the café before the shots rang out.
Dane Salanoa, 29, was also arrested in connection with the robbery, but was later released pending investigation.
A preliminary hearing for Tuilamealiifano is scheduled for Thursday at 1:30 p.m. He remains in custody with bail set at $1 million.
