HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Chamber Music Series opens up their season with the dynamic group Time for Three. Performing for the first time in Hawaii, this string trio refers to itself as a "classically trained garage band" and formed when the members were fellow students at the Curtis Institute of Music. Their eclectic musical tastes range from Bach and Brahms to bluegrass, rock and jazz.
In their 13th year of performing, the group is just as comfortable performing at Carnegie Hall as they are in jazz clubs or even at an NFL game, the Indianapolis 500, or ABC's Dancing with the Stars. Their chart-topping albums feature collaborations with artists such as Hawaii ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro, cellist Alisa Weilerstein, and jazz saxophonist Branford Marsalis.
Time for Three will be performing at the University of Hawaii's Orvis Theater on Friday, October 7th at 7:30 pm with a pre-concert talk beginning at 6:30 pm.
