Ulika has weakened into a post-tropical cyclone in the Central Pacific.
At 5 a.m. Friday, Ulika was located 825 miles east of Hilo and was moving west at 12 miles per hour, the Central Pacific Hurricane Center said. It is expected to continue moving in this direction until it dissipates Saturday afternoon.
Ulika’s maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 35 miles per hour with higher gusts.
Although Ulika is not a major threat to the Hawaiian islands, there’s still a possibility of heavy rains that could impact the state sometime over the weekend.
