Honolulu police have arrested three apparent homeless men involved in a robbery and assault Sunday night in Waikiki.
According to police, the incident occurred around 7 p.m. along the beach side of Kalakaua and Kapahulu Avenues near the rock wall in the Queens Beach area.
Police say two homeless men, ages 52 and 44, tried to take another homeless man's property.
But the 62-year-old victim appeared to fight back. Police said he pulled a weapon out and stabbed the 52-year-old suspect in the stomach.
The victim was also hurt in the scuffle and suffered multiple contusions, cuts and abrasions to his head and face.
Emergency Medical Services treated and took both men to the Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition.
Both suspects were arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery, while the victim was arrested for first-degree assault.
Detectives are working the case, but haven't released any further details on the weapon or the items that were being targeted.
It's unknown if the victim and suspect knew each other.
