From Hawaii Taiwanese Festival
The first-ever Hawai?i Taiwanese Festival will be held on Sunday, September 25 at Kapi?olani Park in Waikiki from 10 AM to 5 PM. The event is being organized by a number of Taiwanese community organizations including the Taiwanese Association of America – Hawai?i Chapter, the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce of Honolulu, and the Hawai?i Taiwanese Center in partnership with the Taiwan Tourism Bureau and the Hawai?i Tourism Authority.
Festivities at the festival include delicious Taiwanese food, live Taiwanese cultural entertainment including an appearance by Crystal Yang, Miss Taiwan International 2016, Taiwanese activities for children, and prize giveaways. “We’re excited to finally have an annual celebration around Taiwan and Taiwanese culture for the first time Hawai?i,” says Crystal Yang, Miss Taiwan International 2016. While organizers tout the multiple activities at the festival, they are specifically buzzing about food offerings to be shared at the celebration. “While Taiwan has become recently known for our signature Bubble Tea dessert drink, that’s only a small sampling of the delicious food that Taiwanese culture offers,” adds Yang.
The Taiwan Festival is free and open to public. For more information about the Hawai?i Taiwanese Festival, visit www.taiwanesefestival.com.
