The University of Hawaii will participate in a more than $150 million research project that will focus on children's health.
The National Institute of Health launched a seven year initiative on Wednesday called Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes.
It will investigate how exposure to different environmental factors affects children's health.
Medically under-served areas will be the focus of the initiative.
