Several weather alerts have been issued across the state as wet weather lingers over the island chain.
As thunderstorms and heavy rains drenched the Big Island, the Red Cross opened a shelter on Wednesday evening for residents who were forced to evacuate due to flash flooding.
The shelter was opened at 43-977 Paauilo Hui Road in Waimea, but closed Thursday.
