HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Sources close to Jumanji told me yesterday that the hawaiian blessing for the start of filming was held at an undisclosed location.  Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Jack Black and Kevin Hart were reportedly on hand; filming to get underway later, but preparations underway.  The Rock said earlier this month that the movie will not be a reboot or remake; it will be a continuation of the late comedian Robin Williams' work; Jumanji expected to be in theatres July 2017.

The sequel to The new "Blair Witch Project" movie opens in theatres Friday.  The new film is called "Blair Witch."  The making of the film was such a secret...that during it's three-an-a-half-year development and production ...even some crew members didn't know it was the sequel.  They thought they were working on a horror flick called "The Woods."  The secret was revealed when director Adam Wingard and collaborator/screenwriter Simon Barrett unveiled it at Comic-Con.

Pauoa resident Grant McCartney put everything he had into last night's season finale of "American Ninja Warrior."  A fan favorite, Grant went fifth.  He missed the first swing twice... which burned 45 seconds.  Unfortunately he went down on the next obstacle course... in the transition up a ladder.  In reality, none of the 17 competitors went home with the one million dollar prize for season eight.  No competitor made it to Stage 4 of the obstacle course.
