Hawaii is often viewed as paradise for many, and new research certainly proves that to be the case.
A recent study by the personal-finance website WalletHub ranked Hawaii the fourth happiest state in the nation. Utah was ranked first, followed by Minnesota and North Dakota.
When looking at various metrics, Hawaii ranked first in terms of lowest depression rate and having the best hedonometer ranking, which measures happiness and self-indulgence on social media.
Hawaii also fared well in the categories of obesity – third – and divorce – fifth.
WalletHub’s analysts compared the 50 states and Washington D.C. across 28 key metrics. Data sets ranged from emotional health to income level to sports participation.
