Hawaii-girl/Kamehameha Schools student Auli'i Cravalho will soon hit the big screen in the movie Moana.  Aulii was just at Disney Aulani last week; she did a meet & greet with cast members who were excited to meet the voice star; Moana hits the big screen on November 23.  It's also the movie that stars that "other" actor...some guy named Dwayne

Hawaii resident Grant McCartney is up for a million dollar prize on tonight's season finale of American Ninja Warrior.  McCartney is a Hawaiian Airlines flight attendant from Pauoa Valley.  He, along with more than a dozen contestants, are going to take on the tough obstacle course.  You can catch that tonight at seven on KHNL.

Hawaiian musician Makana Shared one of his all-time favorite slack key songs on Facebook.  That's "Blue Water Dolphin Song" composed by Keola Beamer.  He wrote "When I first heard it years ago, I let it play on repeat for a week! Keola recorded it on multiple guitars and his version is enchanting."  You can catch Makana performing on Maui: September 24 at the MACC.  Oahu on October First at Blue Note Hawaii.  October 14 on Kauai at Waimea Theater and October 15 at Tahiti Nui.

Recording Artist Jon Yamasato shared a picture on Facebook with a funny caption.  "First 'ukulele recital. Kid on the right got the Herb Ohta Jr face perfected! Thanks Nate Mata for being such a good teacher."

Busy Weekend:  So what was the atmosphere this weekend at the stadium during the first Warrior home game?  It was good; although the crowd was wondering what happened in the first 3 quarters.  In the 4th Quarter, it was a total slugfest on the football field, so the fans in the stands were loud and proud as they cheered their team to victory!!

One of the highlights of the games was also the return of Gaylord Carreira.  Gaylord was the honorary captain of the game this past Saturday night; Gaylord was part of UH Football during the Coach Wagner years.  Back then he graced the sideline, would retrieve the kicking tee after the kickoff, would roll at the end of the sideline, and do the arm swings that the audience would react to.  When Wagner was fired, Carreira was not invited back.  His jersey was repossessed.  There were hurt feelings for years.  Coach Rolo reached out; and reluctantly Gaylord accepted....but on Saturday night, there was a grin ear to ear on Gaylord's face!
