PEARL CITY, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Ten years after opening inside Pearlridge Center on Oahu, Farrell's Hawaii will close its doors for good.

The popular family restaurant known for its giant ice cream sundaes and over-the-top, siren-sounding birthday celebrations, posted fliers about the impending closure at its entrance this week.

The restaurant says their lease expires on September 30, and they have decided to close down operations.

"Fun. Laughter. Music. Drums. Sirens, whistles and fabulous food...We want to thank you for helping make our time at Pearlridge unforgettable," the sign reads.

Customers are urged to use their gift cards before the closure.

Pearlridge management could not say what will fill the space left vacant.
