HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

After traveling more than 19,000 miles to play its first two games of the season, the University of Hawai'i football team returns to the islands to host its home opener versus the University of Tennessee at Martin Saturday night at Aloha Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. HT.
Saturday's game will mark the home head coaching debut for Nick Rolovich who previously guided high-flying attacks as a UH quarterback (2000-01) and assistant coach/offensive coordinator (2008-11).
This will be the first-ever meeting between Hawai'I (0-2) and UT Martin (0-1). UH has won 13 straight games against FCS foes with an average margin of 32 points during that stretch.

Game Notes
This is the first-ever meeting between the squads and just the third Ohio Valley Conference foe UH will face…UH has won 13 straight games against FCS foes, with an average margin of 32 points during that stretch. The last loss to an FCS team came against Portland State (45-20) in 2000, a game in which Nick Rolovich made his UH debut as starting quarterback….UH has won its last four non-conference home games (UL Monroe, UC Davis, Colorado, Northern Iowa). Its last non-conference home loss was versus Oregon State (38-30) in 2014…this is the first time since 1992 that UH will have two games under its belt before playing its home opener. That season the Rainbow Warriors opened with road wins at     Oregon and Air Force, before returning home to defeat BYU.

The rest of its schedule includes FCS opponents and NAIA Bacone College…the Skyhawks are 1-21 all-time against FBS squads with their lone win coming against Memphis in 2012…UT Martin returns nine starters from last year (4 offense/5 defense) and are picked to finish fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference.
