HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Chevy Chase has checked into rehab.  People magazine reports the National Lampoon's Vacation star is an in-patient at Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center in Minnesota.  Chase checked himself in; his rep calls it a "tune-up."  The 72-year-old's latest project, Dog Years, in which he stars alongside Burt Reynolds, is currently being filmed. Another upcoming project, The Christmas Apprentice, has already wrapped.

Congratulations to Beyonce, she celebrated her 35th birthday in New York City, throwing herself a Soul Train-themed rooftop party at The Nomad Hotel.  She look gorgeous in a 70's themed sequined outfit.  Usher and Jay Z also got into the spirit.  The super star had to postpose her September 7 Formation World Tour concert at MetLife Stadium.  She's under doctor's orders to rest her vocal cords. Fans in St. Louis, Los Angeles, Santa Clara, Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Nashville can rest easy though.  Queen Bey will be proceeding with those dates as planned.
The Obama daughters spent their Labor Day Weekend partying with the birthday girl at the Made in America Festival;  some were talking about her fashion; sporting the denim shorts, smoking kills t-shirt and Harvard Baseball Cap; inbetween music acts she was seen hugging Beyonce.

We gave a quick preview of some of the acts that will be competing LIVE tonight on America's Got Talent semi-finals round.  Here's a look at some of the Magicians at work.  There will also be some Jugglers, Contortionist, and lots of singers.  All are competing for a chance to win $1 million and be named the most talented act in America

That's our very own Jobeth Devera competing at the first ever Heiva I Waikiki held yesterday at the Hawaii Theatre.  It was only hours before she had to come in for work that she took the stage.  Jobeth has actually been dancing both Tahitian and Hula since she was 8, next to journalism she says this is her number one passion.  Before today, the last competition she did was in 2012 in Tahiti at the Heiva  -- which is equivalent to our Merrie Monarch Festival for hula in Hawaii.

Makana shared this wonderful video on Facebook...Makana posted, "It's a beautiful morning on Pu'u 'Ohi'a, O'ahu. Enjoy this original (Ki Ho'alu) piece entitled 'Ihiuka. If you've flown transpacific on #HawaiianAir, you've heard this during boarding. Enjoy today, give someone a hug and tell them you love them. Aloha, Makana."
