WAIPIO, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Several lanes of the H-2 Freeway were shut down early Tuesday following a crash involving a garbage truck.
The incident happened around 3 a.m. near the Ka Uka Boulevard off-ramp in the northbound direction.
Emergency Medical Services said three people were treated and transported to the hospital after the vehicle they were in crashed into a garbage truck. A 25-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were both listed in serious condition. A 23-year-old man sustained minor injuries.
Another vehicle was involved, but the driver of that car was not injured. The driver of the garbage truck was also not injured, EMS said.
Lanes were reopened following the investigation.
