A powerful earthquake struck off the coast of New Zealand, but there's no tsunami threat to Hawaii, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
The quake, which struck around 6:35 a.m. HST, measured at a magnitude of 7.1. It occurred about 105 miles northeast of Gisborne, New Zealand.
There were no immediate reports of any damage.
