After opening the college football season in Sydney, Australia, the Rainbow Warriors now get to set to travel the other direction for a date with #7 Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Game Storylines: UH plays its second straight game more than 4,000 miles from home after having opened the season with a 51-31 loss to Cal in Sydney, Australia…this will be the Rainbow Warriors first-ever visit to the Big House…the two previous meetings were in Honolulu, both Michigan wins…wIth a stadium capacity crowd of more than 107,000, UH could play before the largest crowd in school history…last year, UH played before a school-record 107,145 fans at Ohio State…Hawai'i's third Big Ten road game in the last two years…UH fell at Ohio State (38-0) and Wisconsin (28-0) in 2015…head coaches Nick Rolovich and Jim Harbaugh are both former quarterbacks who have returned to lead their alma maters - Rolovich in his first year and Harbaugh in his second…Harbaugh was an All-American on the 1986 squad that defeated UH 27-10 in the first meeting between the programs….UH's first game in the state of Michigan since falling to Michigan State, 42-14, in East Lansing in 2005.
>>> Michigan Director of Player Personnel Tony Tuioti is a former UH player and assistant coach. Tuioti was an all-WAC defensive tackle and member of the 1999 conference championship squad that produced the greatest turnaround in NCAA history under head coach June Jones. Tuioti and Nick Rolovich served on the same staff under head coach Greg McMackin from 2008-11. Tuioti also served as an assistant for two seasons under former UH head coach Norm Chow.
>>> Junior offensive lineman Chris Posa is a native of Commerce, a suburb of Detroit. Posa was an all-league lineman and member of the 2011 state championship team for Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep. He transferred to Hawai'i this past summer after three years as a walk-on at Alabama where he was a member of the 2015 national championship squad.

>>>Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh was the starting quarterback during the first-ever meeting between UH and Michigan in the 1986 regular-season finale at Aloha Stadium. Harbaugh finished 9-of-15 for 125 and no touchdowns in the Wolverines 27-10 win. Harbaugh was an All-American and finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting that season.
Hawai'i vs. The Big Ten
Hawai'i holds a 9-23 record against current members of the Big Ten conference. The Rainbow Warriors played a pair of road games last year at Ohio State (L, 38-0) and Wisconsin (L, 28-0) and were shutout in both games. UH is 3-6 in its last nine meetings versus the Big Ten with wins at home over Northwestern (2004), Michigan State (2004), and Purdue (2006). UH's lone road win against a Big Ten squad came at Nebraska by a count of 6-0 in 1955. Nebraska was then a member of the Big 7 Conference (soon to be Big 8).
Hawai'i vs. Ranked Teams
Hawai'i is 10-40 all-time versus nationally ranked teams, including a 1-15 mark on the road. UH has dropped seven straight versus ranked foes and 11 of its last 12 dating back to 2008. UH is 3-15 all-time versus top 10 squads.
