New president for the East-West Center – Richard Vuylsteke taught at UH and Chaminade. For eight years he's been president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.

HTDC – Hawaii's High Tech Development Corporation – awards $2 million to 51 local companies so they can cover costs to set up or expand manufacturing. Companies on four islands get this.

Avalon Development is delaying plans for a medical office at Kapolei Pacific Center. CEO Christine Camp told PBN a major tenant canceled.
