The trade winds are returning!
By this afternoon, the east-northeast winds should be 15-20 mph with some localized stronger gusts. That should help a little with the oppressive heat and humidity that we have been experiencing.
The high this afternoon will be 90 degrees. Plentiful sunshine after just a few morning showers. The classic, beautiful trade wind weather will continue through the weekend.
Surf is small all around. One item of note: box jellyfish are expected along south shores today through Saturday. Check with lifeguards before you or the kids jump in the ocean.
Small Craft Advisory for the Pailolo and Alenuihaha channels, Maalaea Bay, and coastal waters south and west sides of the Big Island.
