A private interment is scheduled Monday for the late U.S. Rep. Mark Takai, who died after losing a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Flags will continue to fly at half-staff until Takai’s interment. Meanwhile, the flag at the U.S. Capitol will also fly at half-staff on Monday in his honor.
Last week, friends, family, politicians and constituents gathered at the state Capitol for a moving memorial service.
Takai, a Democrat, war veteran and longtime National Guardsmen, died July 20 after a nine-month battle with cancer. He was 49 years old.
