Have you been watching the Olympics? You're not alone. The International Olympic Committee estimates that about half the world's population will have watched the summer games, by the time it's done. That's about 3-point-7 billion people. And the IOC is estimating that 342 million people watched the opening ceremony.
Blake Shelton is apologizing for posting a series of racist and homophobic tweets over the years. The country music star took to twitter Wednesday to say sorry. The tweets in question had been deleted, but resurfaced after someone posted screenshots of them. "The Voice" star wrote "can my humor at times be inappropriate and immature? yes. hateful? never. that said i deeply apologize to anybody who may have been offended."
Lady Gaga is releasing a new single called "perfect illusion" in September. Gaga has been working on her next solo album, the first since the 2013 release of "artpop."
J.K. Rowling has so much more to say about Hogwarts. The "Harry Potter" author has completed a series of short digital works, Pottermore Presents, centered on the school where Potter and friends honed their magic. Three collections will be released September 6th through Rowling's Pottermore web site, pottermore.com.
An epic story of betrayal and redemption returns to the big screen. Jack Huston stars in "Ben hur," - the prince falsely accused of treason. "Ben-hur" opens tomorrow, more than half a century after the Charlton Heston version won eleven academy awards.
And take a look at this post from Hawaii Five O Executive Producer Peter Lenkov; the caption reads.. "Not just for hair... hashtag mac-is-back." Of course, Lenkov is working on the reboot of MacGyver... who was known for *not carrying a gun.. and using random objects to solve problems, like being locked in a bank vault, for instance. By the way... notice that Lenkov's instagram profile pic is a paper clip.
