HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

On Monday night, State health officials officially named Genki Restaurants as the source of the recent Hepatitis A outbreak affecting Hawaii. Genki Sushi employees are cleaning restaurants on Oahu and Kauai from top to bottom, to get rid of any Hepatitis A contamination.  Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of food and supplies were ordered to be thrown out by health officials. Company officials hope to reopen the restaurants soon.

Meanwhile, the public is being asked to get their Hepatitis A vaccination if they had dined at any of the Genki locations since April 23rd.  State health officials are also asking for volunteers to fill out a survey who have dined at Genki, but are not showing any symptoms of the virus.
