Woolsey takes first team reps in fall scrimmage

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - At the beginning of preseason camp, head coach, Nick Rolovich said he intended to name a starting following the team's scrimmage on Saturday night. While Rolovich's final verdict has yet to be announced, the quarterback battle continued at Aloha Stadium, with Ikaika Woolsey taking first team reps.

In his opening drive, Woolsey went six for eight, wrapping things up with a 25-yard touchdown pass to John Ursua. The senior qb was under center for four drives. He went 13 for 20 on the night, with that toss to Ursua marking his only touchdown of the night.

Redshirt freshman, Aaron Zwahlen ran with the second team for three drives. His first of the night ending with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Collie.

Sophomore, Dru Brown went 15 for 20 with no TD's with the third team.

When asked after the scrimmage who his starter would be, Rolovich said he wanted to look at film before making any announcements.

The Rainbow Warriors leave for Australia, where they open their season against Cal, just one week from now.
