WAIMANALO, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Olomana Golf has appointed Ed Kageyama as the managing partner of Olomana Golf Links.
Kageyama is no stranger to the golf industry. He has 25 years of experience specializing in destination marketing, golf renovations and rebranding.
As former Aloha Section PGA president, he is applying his vast experience into ownership of Olomana Golf Links located in Waimanalo.
"I worked on many golf courses in all different aspects and I realized that I really enjoyed being involved in grass-roots golf. "Kageyama said. "In Hawaii, that's local golf."
He also has fond memories of playing junior golf at Olomana.
"To be able to own and be a part of a place that's accessible and affordable for everyone, especially kids is important to us," Kageyama said.
In regards to the future, Kageyama said that they won't be going anywhere.
Born and raised on Oahu, Kageyama attended Punahou School and the University of Washington. He began his extensive career in the golf industry at Turtle Bay and then played a part in constructing, opening, renovating and transitioning 10 golf courses statewide.
Olomana is the home of the largest youth golf program in Hawaii and was the starting point of LPGA professional Michelle Wie's career.
