KAILUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 68-year-old Waimanalo woman died Friday after her car flipped over on the Pali Highway.
The victim was identified as Beverly Rodrigues, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
The crash happened just before noon in the Castle Junction area, when Rodrigues was traveling Kailua-bound. Police said she veered right for an unknown reason, crossed both lanes and struck the guardrail. She was ejected from the vehicle.
Paramedics took her in extremely critical condition to the Castle Medical Center, where she later died.
Police said Rodrigues was not wearing a seatbelt. Speed, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
An autopsy will be conducted Monday to determine Rodrigues' official cause of death.
This is the 33rd traffic fatality so far this year, compared to 31 at the same time in 2015.
