An upscale, three-screen movie theater will open at Queen's Marketplace shopping center in Spring 2017.
The theater will feature a full-service restaurant and bar.
"The 'luxury cinema' concept has proven to be quite a hit on the mainland," said Waikoloa Luxury Cinemas owner Tony Dalzell, "so we decided that would be our business model here."
It will be the first theater in the area. People in Waikoloa usually go to theatrers in Kona or Honokaa.
Theater patrons will be able to kick back in a cushy leather chair and order a glass of wine.
A 5,000-square-foot lanai will be available to everyone, patron or not.
Three auditoriums, equipped with cutting-edge sound and projection systems, will seat 85-100 people. If you don't feel like waiting in line to purchase your food and drinks, you may have it delivered to your love seat.
In addition to films, Waikoloa Luxury Cinemas will be available for rentals, concerts, and live performances. The new venue will provide about 45 new jobs in the community.
