HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Some relief from the oppressive humidity is in the forecast for today. Trade winds will build to 15-20 mph by afternoon with some stronger gusts.

There are very few showers out there. Mostly sunny is the forecast with a high of 89 degrees in Honolulu.

Drink plenty of fluids today and put on the sunscreen. UV Index is high at 13 today.

Even stronger trades tomorrow as remnants of Ivette pass to the south of the islands and tighten the pressure gradient. Ivette may also increase showers for the Big Island, and to a lesser extent for other islands.

Very little wave action this morning. Energy from Ivette will likely kick up east shores Thursday and Friday. Surf today will be 2-4 feet east and south, 1-3 feet north and west.

Small Craft Advisory for Pailolo and Alenuihaha channels, Maalaea Bay, and coastal waters south and west of the Big Island.
